Working with Me

When engaging me for a project you can expect the following:

• Prompt Replies and Communication
  • Expect same day replies to inquiries.  If I’m too busy, I’ll let you know when to expect a response
  • Expect regular communications from me on projects.  You will never be in the dark as to the status of the project, nor will you have to track me down to find information.
• Simplicity and Flexibility
  • I’m the owner, project manager, programmer, engineer, and accountant all in one.  Therefore, you will not have to deal with an army of managers and multiple departments to work with me!
• Competency
  • I don’t guess when doing my work.  If there is something that I don’t know, I will find it out, or let you know.
  • I follow modern programming paradigms to the best of my ability.  Expect any programs created or modified by me to adhere to IEC-61131 guidelines.
• Not Afraid to Get Dirty
  • While I prefer office work and staying clean, I am not above going into dark, dirty places to get the job done (think basements of steel mills).  Sometimes it is impossible to properly program or fix a machine without getting a first-hand look at what is going on.
• Detail Oriented
  • Like most engineers, I take special care to account for the little details.  You will receive from me detailed plans laying out how the project will be completed and what will be completed.

• You have the right to an overall plan, to know what can be accomplished when and at what cost.
• You have the right to get the most possible value out of every programming week.
• You have the right to see progress in a running system, proven to work by passing repeatable tests that you specify.
• You have the right to change your mind, to substitute functionality, and to change priorities without paying exorbitant costs.
• You have the right to be informed of schedule changes, in time to choose how to reduce the scope to restore the original date.  You can cancel at any time and be left with a useful working system reflecting investment to date.
